The mission of Tunstall Middle School is to prepare all students to leave eighth grade with the intellectual skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in high school as indicated by the achieving and maintaining of full state accreditation under the Virginia Standards of Accreditation. Our students will know the path they need to take to enable them to pursue and attain their individual goals for further education and careers.

Tunstall Middle School will be recognized for providing a superlative educational environment in which all members of the diverse student population will participate in a rigorous academic program, a variety of exploratory studies, and an array of social activities designed to promote and expand civic responsibility, self-confidence, and a general sense of well-being.
